Diane Grace Goodman has been engaged in visual and performing arts since she was 3 years old, when her grandmother taught her to sew and embroider and her father encouraged her to draw and to paint. A few years later, she began to study dance, and continued to study, choreograph, teach and perform for the next 27 years. Since 1995, her work has taken form as two and three dimensional visual art.

In 2000, she was awarded a Visual Art Fellowship Grant from the the Minnesota State Arts Board. The two-room installation, Inheritance (the Katherine E. Nash Gallery, University of Minnesota), was supported by a FY 2002 Career Opportunity Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. Drawing from personal narrative and emotional experience, her sculptures and mixed media installations explore psychodynamic responses to memory, loss, and trauma.
